CSIP was asked by the Department of Health to provide support, information and awareness raising for new, far reaching pieces of legislation.

A Regional Implementation Group coordinated the work of the overall programme. Local Implementation Networks have been meeting regularly in each locality to discuss issues, gather information, raise awareness and provide a timetable and framework within which this implementation can take place.

Implementation of this legislation is regionalised to provide a single point of contact for the various agencies that the legislation impacts upon.
