Guidance on action to be taken at suicide hotspots has been produced by the national Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) on behalf of the Department of Health. Preventing suicide: A toolkit for mental health services

The toolkit provides a simple way for services to measure existing standards against the recommendations outlined in the report by the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide by People with Mental Illness. From this baseline measure services will then be able to develop local arrangements, assisted by a list of resources that can support the development of positive practice, to help with implantation.
