This update highlights the main development work recorded as taking place in 2008, transferred from the MHAct website previosuly managed by nimhe.
1. Pennine Care (North West)
Lead: Medical Director
Preliminary
discussions have taken place with Pennine Care and a meeting was held
with the Medical Director, Social Care Director and a Forensic

and consequently has a busy agenda. However, Pennine has a history of
early implementation having introduced Support Time and Recovery
Workers, Community Development Workers, Assistant Practitioners, and
perhaps of direct relevance, Advanced Practitioners now working in
their mental health services.
The early indications are that
they are looking at the potential of introducing non medical

psychology.
Current Position: waiting for further contact from the Trust on intention or otherwise to develop RC role.

project plan stages for the development of this role at the earliest
opportunity post Amendment implementation (November 3rd 08)
The
Trust has looked at the strategic and financial implications and has
committed to this development, primarily driven by workforce shortages
and recruitment difficulties in localities.
The Trust is also considering the development of the non medical RC but this is at an exploratory stage at this time.
